The domain of qualitative survey research has benefited greatly from the advances made with new apps and tools like TIIM and Sociometry. Measuring competences and interests was however not part of these tools by default. The career compass application changes this and helps researchers get an insight into the professional identity of students, their interests and ambitions.
Career compass
The career compass app was developed as part of a project to study the professional identity of STEM field students. After graduation many ended up outside of the technical sector. Career Compass provides a simple method of deploying personality, interest and ambition related questionnaires. Analysis is easily done through a back-end specifically developed for the app.
