Great that you want to do a project with the BMS lab! We have a wide range of facilities and equipment ready for your project. The registration (or sign-up) process contains three steps (Read more about the process). At the end you will have received a 10 digit (like this: Project-ID-100000001) project number. Keep this number handy. With this number you can then reserve equipment and facilities. Please make sure that you read these instructions carefully. This will ensure that both the sign-up and our checks can be done quickly. This whole process takes only 15 minutes of your time, but can take up to 5 working days to be finalized.

Step 1.: Ensure that you meet all the requirements

Before proceeding with your sign-up please ensure that you meet our three main criteria (Read about our criteria, special cases and exceptions).

First, at the BMS lab we work with students and staff members of the BMS faculty or those supervised by one. Others can sign-up, but require additional steps.

Second, all activities that make use of any form of human participation require ethical approval (tech demonstrations and try-outs are exempt). You need to send this approval either through the sign-up form or e-mail.

Third, your project needs to fit within our scope. Furthermore, you need to ensure that adequate provisions for safe data storage are being taken.

Are you part of the BMS faculty?
Do/will you have ethical approval?
Does your project fit with the lab?

Tip: Streamline your sign-up process

It is sometimes possible to sign-up your project while still waiting on ethical approval. We will require your ethical approval before our evaluation session on Tuesdays or Thursdays.
